The Commercial Truck Driving certificate program provides basic training in the principles and skills of commercial truck operations. The program is based on the definition of a truck driver as one who operates a commercial motor vehicle of all different sizes and descriptions on all types of roads. The truck driver must maintain proper documentation on the load and the vehicle. Also, the driver is responsible for ensuring the vehicle is in safe operating condition. The Commercial Truck Driving certificate courses teach the student to comply with all federal, state and local laws and regulations. For the completion of the program, the student is administered the Georgia CDL Skills Exam. Classes meet Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30pm until 10pm and on Saturday from 7:45am until 4pm.

The purpose of the Entrepreneurship Technical Certificate of Credit program is to meet community and industry needs for education in the field of entrepreneurship. This certificate program will provide for individuals the skills and knowledge required to plan, establish, and manage a small business enterprise. Classes meet Monday and Wednesday from 6:30pm until 10pm.

The Certified Customer Service Specialist Certificate consists of a sequence of courses that prepares students for careers in Customer Service. Students are provided learning opportunities in core interpersonal and technical skills required to deliver exceptional customer service in a broad range of customer contact jobs. Classes meet Tuesday through Thursday from 2pm until 5pm.

If you are interested in beginning any of these classes which are offered at the Taylor County Center in Butler, please call 478-862-2323. All classes require completion of Flint River Technical College admissions paperwork and a HOPE grant application.  All classes, with the exception of Entrepreneurship, require the college entrance test.  All of these procedures can be taken care of when you come for a registration appointment.  If you have never attended Flint River Technical College, a $15 application fee is required.  For those classes requiring a high school diploma or GED, you will need to bring your diploma or transcripts with you.  Some programs have additional requirements which can be discussed when paperwork is completed.
